Public Banking in the 2023 Primary Election

We are hard at work to ensure that Public Banking is a voting issue in this election! The message is clear, Philadelphia wants a public bank and we will vote for a mayor and council people who will deliver on that promise.

  • Mayoral Candidates are showing up to Financing Philadelphia’s Future to discuss their plans for democratizing our economy, implementing the Philadelphia Public Financial Authority, and supporting a public Bank.   • Public Banking is a key plank in the People’s Platform for a Just Philadelphia. Support for the public bank was unanimously adopted by all Democratic At Large City Council Candidates who participated in the People’s Forum on April 2. See Photo below.
  • Public Banking is a key plank in POWER’s Economic Dignity Platform. On April 16th, POWER will be seeking key policy commitments from all mayoral candidates, public banking is one of them. Register here to attend POWER’s  Mayoral Candidate Forum on April 16.
